Sorensen, President & CEO Scan Security is headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, near the International ports and airports of Miami, West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale, the natural gateways to South- and Central America and the Caribbean plus an important transshipment hubs from and to the rest of the world. Scan Security also has representative offices in Scandinavia, Spain, and Latin America for undertaking of supply chain risk assessments.

The founder of Scan Security is a native of Denmark. He holds a bachelor of business administration degree from the East Asiatic Company, Copenhagen and is an international security executive specializing in the international supply chain for the transport industry. As a manager and owner's representative of EAC Shipping, Mr. Sorensen was stationed in various Latin overseas destinations like Madrid, Spain, Mexico City, Mexico and Caracas, Venezuela for more than 10 years.

Since 1982, Sorensen has been involved with then U.S. Customs, as general manager of Maritima Aragua, S.A. of Venezuela, one of the first South American liner services to sign-up for the Super Carrier Initiative Program program (SCIP). The program allowed very close working relationship with the U.S. Customs (which today is known as U.S. Customs & Border Protection) undertaking voluntary raids on the company's vessels by Customs and other U.S. and Venezuelan Government authorities.
